Work with me

Would you benefit from the expert hand of an experienced editor to help you develop your writing?

Would you like to feel more confident every time you sit down to write or blog?

I can help you move forward with your writing at every stage of the writing process. You will write with more confidence, learn to break through blocks and complete work so you can finally publish.

Who is this for?

  • You know you have a book in you but have no idea where to begin.
  • You’ve started some shorter pieces, but you’re not sure how to finish them.
  • You worry that no one really wants to hear what you have to say and wonder if you should bother writing at all.
  • You have trouble finishing what you start.
  • You have a blog, but your blog doesn’t adequately represent your voice and creative ability.
  • You’re ready to publish and share your writing with the world but find yourself stuck in details.

I can help you:

  • pinpoint your personal writing blocks and work through them
  • create a clear and authoritative voice to your writing
  • provide you with clear, manageable steps to edit and complete your writing
  • support you as you develop your own writing process
  • encourage you as you push away fear and doubt so you can write effectively
  • blog more creatively within a clear niche

Two ways of working together:

Every Writer Needs A Reader

Writing is painful, as any professional writer knows. No matter how much you love it, you’ll run into blocks.  Why? Because when you’re deep in the nitty gritty details of writing, it’s easy to lose sight of the overall message you want to impart to your readers.

Think of me as your audience. I am here to provide constructive feedback so you can break through blocks and move towards creating more polished writing with a strong, clear and authentic message. These private workshops are perfect at any stage of your writing process, from brainstorming to editing or a final read through when preparing to submit for publication.

You send me your written work. I read it, comment and then we’ll meet to discuss.

Nancy Vogel TestimonialLeigh has a way of cutting through the chaff and zeroing in on what really needs to be there.

She cleaned up my manuscipt of Twenty Miles to the Next Cookie, offering many valuable insights on how to make it better.

Nancy Sathre-Vogel,

We can work on:

  • brainstorming to get you started or unstick you when you’re stuck

  • creating short stories and short story collections

  • short creative non-fiction based your experiences

  • incorporating research to make for clean and authentic writing

  • journalistic pieces that draw an audience and focus on relevant topics

  • untangling the process of long form writing such as novels, memoirs and other books

If you have another type of writing you’d like to workshop or if you have any other questions, e-mail me to see how we can work together.

How it works:

1. First, you can set up our first meeting by making a payment through the Paypal link below.

2. After you make the payment, you will immediately be directed to a form where you’ll give me your contact information and answer a few questions about your writing. I will be in touch soon after so you can send me your draft and to schedule a time for our Skype.

3. Before we meet, I’ll carefully read and take notes on your draft.

4. Then, we’ll meet via Skype for 60 minutes to workshop your writing. After our meeting, should you wish, I will send you the notes I took while reading your draft as well as those from our meeting.

Set up our meeting now by making a payment through the Paypal link below:

Each workshop hour is 150USD. Save 100USD by signing up for three workshops at once.

Every Writer Needs A Reader

NOTE: I charge a reading fee for pieces longer than 40 pages. This reading fee is crucial as it allows me the time to really concentrate on your writing. I keep extensive notes on style, theme, voice and other aspects of your writing. The reading helps me to form a clear picture of how you work and how to best support you and your writing.

You will receive a copy of my notes after our first meeting to guide you during your editing process. During our workshop, we’ll focus on the higher level issues of theme, story line and structure. My notes will also address smaller issues of syntax, grammar and diction so you can polish the finer details of your text.

How much is the fee? The reading fee is 2USD/page after 40 pages. A standard page is 250 words, so to find out how many pages are in your work, divide the number of words by 250.

If your work is longer than 40 standard pages, we can arrange payment when I contact you to schedule our meeting. If your piece is shorter than 40 pages, there is no fee.

Blogging Boot Camp

Many of us write our blog posts haphazardly. They’re last minute. You’re not sure what to write. You want to respond to current events, but also want to make the time we spend thinking of ideas, writing posts and formatting more efficient.

You want to make sure that even though each post lives separately, there is a clear thread that ties your posts and the voice on your blog together.

I’ll take you from the beginning of the process to the end. Together, we’ll look at specific techniques that help free you up to generate topics, create authoritative posts with titles that make people want to read what you have to say and design a manageable, efficient schedule while still allowing for your own creative and organizational processes.

Sam Tyers TestimonialI really like the step-by-step process and approach and initial brainstorming. A really good way to get me to focus on this for longer than a nanosecond. Leigh’s methods also helped highlight how much potential content I have!

I love her blog and social media planner. Never thought I’d say that. It’s a very simple, easy to use tool that has helped me unpickle my ideas, give clarity and structure to my blogging. I also really liked your approach in that you made me feel good about blogging. Blogging new feels less like a giant elephant in the room, and I’m actually excited to get stuck in. A major victory for me, and one I’ve been battling for a long time!!

Sam Tyers,

We can work on:

  • long or short blog posts
  • blog post series

How it works:

1. First, you can set up our first meeting by making a payment through the Paypal link below.

2. After you make the payment, you will immediately be directed to a form where you’ll give me your contact information and answer a few questions about your blogging and social media. I will be in touch soon after to set up a time to chat.

3. Before we meet, I’ll look at and evaluate your website, blog and your social media profiles. This initial evaluation will allow me to analyze your writing in terms of niche, voice and help you determine you direction and audience.

3. Then, we’ll meet via Skype for 60 minutes to discuss your writing process, talk about where you get stuck and then begin to generate content and a schedule. Many walk away from that first meeting with a clear view of the next month of blogging or more.

    Hi Leigh,

Good for you! I know it is very difficult to learn Spanish, but you will succeed! I learned English when I was 17
years old, and It has been one of the best things in my life! Happy to know you are living in Salta, because there seems to be a nice place! I work as a translator (English into Spanish) so if I can be of any help to you, feel free to send me an email. Blessings!
