We were offered tickets under the "new rules" that distributed the remaining tickets to repeat volunteers, and for a cheaper price too. I didn't take them, because I was already of the mind that I'd put my effort into attending regionals this year. So instead of being a part of the whole nasty lottery business, which BMORG was repeatedly warned against by many different intelligent people that DO THIS KIND OF THING FOR A LIVING, I have actually made my first art piece, traveled with it to a cool regional in the high desert, AND I am going to another one in June. The playa is magical. The system has failed, and it will take some serious rethinking and restructuring to return to our stated principles. I don't mind missing this year, if only to say "come on guys, get your shit together." Sigh. Hopefully enough people will get involved and come up with a workable solution. No need to feel the guilt. Although, you're not the only one I know who feels that way. I agree. At least we're not being stoned to death when we get our tickets. Or... are we? I saw that petition. The only thing is, if I have an extra ticket, I want to give it to a friend.
